Georgian Style Lighting fixtures were usually strong, symmetrical fixtures featuring decorative details such as wreaths, scrolls, shields, urns and acanthus leaves. Most of the lighting was made of brass, copper or silver which featured either highly polished or burnished brass finishes.
The Georgian period was an era of grandeur, with elegant, opulent lighting. It was known as the ‘age of the aristocracy’. Solid brass or copper lanterns lit by candles were a key feature of lighting during this period. The timeless appeal of Georgian lighting is as popular today as it always has been.
